About Us
Raspberries & Soda was founded in 2019 by Grace Kemp. After studying a diploma of applied fashion design at TAFE, and then working with some of the best designers in Brisbane, Grace decided it was time to launch her own business. Initially working solely in alterations and custom orders, she slowly built a name for herself and Raspberries & Soda that spoke of quality workmanship, great customer service and a passion for ethical and sustainable work practices.
Grace has always had a love for natural fibres, bold and sometimes unconventional colour choices and a minimal waste approach to design . This lead to the brand’s unique aesthetic of bright, colourful and distinctive prints paired with fabrics that are sourced ethically with a focus on deadstock, Australian made, vintage or repurposed fabrics.
Our designs are created to capture the fun and joyful nature of our Australian summers, while still being practical to wear, lasting season to season and becoming your favourite go-to items in your wardrobe. Finding women’s fashion that has the same feeling of freedom and spirit as young girl’s fashion does, is a serious challenge, and so we hope to make your search for colourful, feminine, youthful but appropriate fashion easier. We want you to feel good, as much as we want you to look good!
What you should know about our founder and head designer Grace is that she is a mum of three young children, she is passionate about environmentally friendly practices, ethical and Australian based production; she loves exploring all different creative pursuits (think embroidery, beadwork, painting); her favourite place to be is either outside or in her studio and that sometimes, because she just can’t help it, her Christian faith may creep out into her design work.
All of pieces are all small batch made in Queensland; sometimes in shorter runs than others and occasionally featuring one-of-a-kind designs, depending on the meterage we can source of select fabrics. We are currently expanding our production team to bring you quality pieces more consistently and in a larger range of sizes, but we promise that as we grow, our label will continue to be made right here in sunny Queensland, as we are exceptionally proud to say we are an Australian owned and made business.
We hope that wearing our pieces brings a smile to your face and that you love them as much as we love designing and creating them for you.
